In response to the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017, the UK government introduced the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021 and the External Wall Fire Review (EWS1) regulations to ensure the safety of residents in high-rise buildings. These regulations require building owners to assess the fire safety of a building in higher detail and take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of fire. As such our client tasked us with undertaking additional fire stopping measures in this 8 storey building. Nottingham Building Solutions Ltd liaised with the Fire Risk Assessor to ensure all aaspects of the building internally were properly fire stopped with records created to ensure the quality was correct and that maintenance could be monitored going forward.
